For the third consecutive year, support from Verizon Wireless allowed local domestic violence advocates to travel to Washington, D.C. in June to participate in the National Network to End Domestic Violence’s (NNEDV) annual Advocacy Days. The $25,000 for the scholarships came from a donation presented in conjunction with the finale of How Sweet the Sound™, Verizon Wireless’ national choir competition. Pictured — Howard Woolley, senior vice president of wireless public policy and government relations for Verizon, provided opening remarks for the Verizon Women of Color scholarship recipients.
